Ingredients
- Bread slices (your choice): 4 slices
- Cooked chicken, shredded: 1/2 cup
- Pepperoni slices: 20 slices
- Pizza sauce: 1/4 cup
- Shredded mozzarella cheese: 1 cup
- Butter, softened: 2 tablespoons
- Italian seasoning: 1/2 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese, grated: 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
- Step 2: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place two bread slices, butter-side down, in the skillet.
- Step 3: Spread pizza sauce evenly over each slice of bread in the skillet. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning. Top with mozzarella cheese, shredded chicken, and pepperoni slices.
- Step 4: Sprinkle parmesan cheese on the other two bread slices (that are not in the skillet). Place these slices, butter-side up, on top of the sandwiches in the skillet.
- Step 5: Grill for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey. Press down gently with a spatula while grilling to ensure even cooking.
- Step 6: Remove from skillet, slice in half (if desired), and serve immediately.
Notes
- Refrigerate leftover grilled cheese in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- To reheat, try using a skillet over low heat to prevent burning and maintain cheesy goodness.
- Serve with a side of warm marinara sauce for dipping to enhance the pizza flavor!
