Delicious white chocolate orange creamsicle truffles recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • White chocolate chips: 12 ounces
  • Heavy cream: 1/2 cup
  • Orange zest: 2 tablespoons
  • Orange extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar: 1/4 cup, for coating
  • Melted white chocolate: 4 ounces, for coating (optional)
  • Orange sprinkles: For garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Place the white chocolate chips in a heat-safe bowl.
  2. Step 2: Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil. Pour the hot cream over the white chocolate chips.
  3. Step 3: Let the mixture sit for about 1 minute to allow the heat to melt the chocolate. Then, gently stir until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  4. Step 4: Stir in the orange zest and orange extract until well combined. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface of the mixture, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, until firm.
  5. Step 5: Once firm, use a small spoon or melon baller to scoop out rounded portions of the truffle mixture. Roll each portion between your palms to form a smooth ball.
  6. Step 6: Roll each truffle in powdered sugar until fully coated. Alternatively, dip the truffles in melted white chocolate and sprinkle with orange sprinkles before the chocolate sets. Place the finished truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow them to set completely.

Notes

  • Store these truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week to maintain their firm texture and fresh flavor.
  • If your truffles get too cold and hard, let them sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving to soften slightly.
  • Serve these chilled truffles as a delightful after-dinner treat or alongside a cup of hot coffee or tea for a balanced flavor profile.
  • For a more intense orange flavor, try gently rubbing the orange zest with the powdered sugar before coating the truffles; this releases more of the zest's oils.
