Delicious heavenly homemade lasagna in just 45 minutes recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb Italian Sausage
  • 1 jar (24 oz) Marinara Sauce
  • 15 lasagna noodles (oven-ready, no boil)
  • 15 oz Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brown Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Step 2: Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning into the skillet with the sausage. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Step 3: In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
  4. Step 4: Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer 5 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
  5. Step 5: Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, then top with half of the remaining meat sauce. Repeat layers: noodles, ricotta mixture, and meat sauce. Finish with a final layer of noodles, meat sauce, mozzarella cheese, and the remaining Parmesan cheese.
  6. Step 6: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the lasagna is heated through. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For easier slicing, let the lasagna cool for a full 15 minutes before serving – patience is a virtue!
  • Leftover lasagna can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, ready for a quick and tasty meal.
  • Reheat individual slices in the microwave or the whole pan covered in foil in a 350°F oven until warmed through.
  • For extra flavor, try adding a layer of thinly sliced zucchini or spinach between the ricotta and meat sauce layers.
