Delicious guacamole recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 12 tablespoons lime juice, to taste
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium-sized bowl.
  2. Step 2: Mash the avocados with a fork to your desired consistency. Some people prefer a chunky guacamole, while others like it smoother.
  3. Step 3: Add the chopped onion, tomatoes, cilantro, lime juice, jalapeño (if using), salt, and cumin (if using) to the mashed avocado.
  4. Step 4: Gently stir all the ingredients together until well combined, being careful not to over-mash the avocados.
  5. Step 5: Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more lime juice for tanginess or salt for flavor.

Notes

  • To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole and refrigerate.
  • Guacamole is best served fresh and is not typically reheated.
  • Serve guacamole with tortilla chips, as a topping for tacos, or alongside grilled meats for a flavorful addition.
  • For the best flavor, use avocados that yield to gentle pressure but aren't overly soft.
