Delicious frosted butter pecan cookies recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 2 1/4 cups
  • Unsalted butter, softened: 1 cup (2 sticks)
  • Granulated sugar: 3/4 cup
  • Brown sugar, packed: 3/4 cup
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped pecans: 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Step 2: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Step 4: Stir in the chopped pecans.
  5. Step 5: Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. (Frost if desired after cooling.)

Notes

  • To keep these cookies soft, store them in an airtight container with a slice of bread.
  • If you want a warm, gooey treat, microwave a cookie for about 10 seconds.
  • These cookies are delicious served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a hot cup of coffee.
  • For a richer pecan flavor, toast the chopped pecans in a dry skillet before adding them to the dough.
